Treats and Rawhides
In the Grooming Salon |
What is the most natural thing for someone to do when his
puppy has been a very good boy at the groomers? Give him a reward, of
course. If you stock a large selection of goodies in your sales area,
chances are puppy will leave with a nice snack.
Rawhides are among our best sellers and the choices are endless. No
longer are we restricted to sticks, bones and chips. Taking the shape
of hot dogs, hamburgers, rings, shoes, balls, and french fries, this
natural product is now available in a multitude of sizes, shapes and colors.
Hard biscuits are also very popular because the do a good job of
cleaning dogs' teeth and are eaten quickly, leaving no mess.
Biscuits can be purchased in bulk or home-made. These also come a in
a wide variety of shapes and colors and sell quickly bagged or sold
separately. We keep a large glass cookie jar on the checkout counter
filled with larger bones sold individually. Smaller bones are
bagged by weight and hung on pegs.
Always stock snacks that aid digestion and bad breath. Teeth problems
and tarter build-up are not the only causes of mouth odor in dogs.
Gas, caused by digestive upset, goes both ways, not only causing airy
problems but bad breath as well. Bones and treats made with charcoal
control and help eliminate this condition.
Check the dog's teeth when grooming, then if an owner asks about odor
problems you can direct him to the right product. Not only will you
make a sale, but also improve your image as a knowledgable grooming
professional.
